Blacks and Whites' Carnival

The Blacks and Whites' Carnival, declared in 2002 Cultural Patrimony of the Nation, is held every year in Pasto, an Andean city located in southwestern Colombia, the first week of January, attracting a large number of tourists from all over the country and abroad. The city of Pasto has historically been known as a meeting point and crossroads of different peoples and colonies.


















Pasto:
City surprise Colombia, Pasto is the capital city of the department of Nariño in southern Colombia, besides being the head of the municipality of Pasto. It has been administrative, cultural and religious center of the region since colonial times.
